wh500special 2,184 #2 Posted September 8, 2022 Sad news indeed. While most of us on this side of the Atlantic really can't relate to the importance and significance of the monarchy, we can share in the sympathy that comes from losing a stable, predictable, solid, allied head of state. Best wishes to the people of the UK, Steve

oliver2-44 9,756 #10 Posted September 9, 2022 My mother and the Queen are the same age. On a different scale but like the Queen my Mom is quite the Matriarch of our family. Of course, Family was everything to their generation, as it should be to us. They both lived through the hardships and horrors of WWII and saw unimaginable changes in technology and the world around us. God save the Queen and may eternal rest be granted unto her.
Pullstart 62,902 #11 Posted September 9, 2022 (edited) Sad news indeed. I got a call that an older cousin’s husband passed away yesterday, had a medical issue on the way to work. Ran a stop sign and got hit, but he was likely gone before the collision. People often say life is short, but it’s the longest thing we’ll do here on this earth. I might beat myself up here and there, but I still try to live like yesterday could’ve been my last. Today is a bonus! formariz 11,987 #12 Posted September 9, 2022 My condolences to all British people. There perhaps has never been nor will be again a public figure who have conducted themselves with such dignity , grace, and having the utmost loyalty and respect for their people. Such is evidenced by the admiration of virtually the entire world. Regardless of politics or political system beliefs a true loss of a great example of noble conduct.
