Rain day

Recommended Posts

Having a rain day today (yesterday too) really cramps the working outside job choice. So here I am sitting in the small equipment shop hiding from the boss, playing on red square. You all have some amazing tractors and the knowledge in this group has been amazing. I don’t think there isn’t a question posed that has ever gone unanswered. Most everyone here is quick to help to. So from the boys and I, I would like to thank you all.

They are finally home tonight and baseball was cancelled so I have a feeling we will be headed to the garage! Alex called me to ask if we could head out when he got home.

well back to sharpening mower blades or making it look like I’m doing something constructive which ever it is.

Not too bad of a place this, Red square.

EXCELLENT advice and great humor involving not just tractors ... Nearly anything else.

About the only thing the old bat and I won't tackle at home is electricity and plumbing. No real reason to do either one because we have friends in each industry.

Other than that, we've tried all kinds of home repairs and remodels and modifications. Bunches of different kinds of purchases of machinery or tools. All possible manner of advice that we've asked for over the last few years has been answered, and very well.

And the best part is that the knowledge and experience is freely shared to help someone else. No Divas or Prima Donnas here ! Just a lot of folks like me, older that dirt, that keep our old WH tractors alive for the next generation....

Permits?  I don’t do no stinkin’ permits and did all of the wiring and plumbing in my own house, machine shop, shed and barn.  I think that there are folks that wanted me to buy permits but I gave myself permission.

To be completely honest I'm not exactly sure what things I need a permit for, and what I don't.

Our particular issue is really not so much the fact that Code Enforcement is a pain to deal with. They're great, really.

I have to make absolutely sure of that any electric or plumbing changes done to my house are known of, and approved by, my insurance company.

Some folks might not care one whit about that but we get a fantastic rate as long as we prove things were done correctly and legally.

Electric stuff is done by a friend of Trina's that used to work at the hospital with her.

I don't really have any reason to do plumbing on my own although I have done some here and there. There's this guy on Red square named @JCM Jim AKA (Plunge) that helps us out...

Was home as well yesterday and with it raining I figured it was a great time to clean up the garage workbench…a job I hate doing when it’s nice out! And of course took plenty of breaks to surf Redsquare

I didn’t get the day off or days in this case. I wish I did. But we had enough work to do in the shops to keep me kind of busy. Surfing RedSquare is what I mostly did.

Nice work there Mike. Quite the improvement.

We did a fair pile of reorga-cleaning in our basement workshop yesterday.

We can actually move around now!!

I think that there are two separate requirements, the insurance underwriters want to inspect for safety reasons and local governments want to regulate what you can do.  I did have my house inspected for insurance reasons but the township was not involved.  The whole deal was between me, the inspector and the electric company who won’t connect till it is inspected.  The electric company only concerns itself with things from the main breaker out.  I don’t think that there is any reduction in insurance rates around here, just a chance that they will not pay if the loss was caused by work that wasn’t inspected. YMMV

c-series don

I didn’t take pictures but over the weekend I pulled everything out of my garage and painted the floor. I did take a video but don’t know how to post videos. As I was putting things back my son-in-law decided we should take a few pictures! Sorry for the dirty tires on the LSE, I took it out for a ride the other day and didn’t wash them off !!

:scared-eek:

As penance, please drop it off at my house. I will clean the tires and then keep them clean at my house for a couple years…

Nice job on the floor!!’:handgestures-thumbupright:

You are 1/3 almost correct. We do have an outdoor toilet but it too requires a hose input for flushing.
