wallfish 17,011 #5 Posted September 4, 2022 Stop screwing around and chain more on at once! You need a saw mill Or maybe a pellet mill. That would make for one cool tractor attachment! https://www.ebay.com/itm/374181503778?var=0&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&campid=5338767613&toolid=20006&customid=4581596248650291_377867555

We had to trim some off the top of that tree to get it around the garden. 1 hour ago, wallfish said: chain more on at once Ya know if I had a lifting mechanism it would pull at least 3 or 4 trees that size. We've never built a lift because we normally cut and split the trees right where they're laid over.

Just my The idea is good but we VERY rarely twitch a whole log. This one was done because it was on or near a ground hornets nest. That said... I do have a crane idea I stared a couple years ago. Perhaps.....? 3

Oldskool 6,644 #20 Posted September 5, 2022 How about a log arch trailer? Then you can haul a bigger twitch. 3

Several years ago we decided to cut n split our firewood at the site of the tree drop. One of the primary reasons is I don't like mud and stones in my chainsaws. We thought about using an arch and a dolly for the far end too. Too much heavy lifting.
