Gregor 4,846 #1 Posted August 30, 2022 Some people have all the luck. Every year our high school buys, rebuilds, restores, some type of classic car, and sells raffle tickets at different events throughout the school year. The final drawing and give away is held at our local antique festival. This was held this past weekend. Two years ago, I believe it was a Camaro. Last year was a '69 Chevelle. This year, it was a '79 Corvette. I bought several tickets throughout the year myself at different places. But alas, I didn't win. My son in law did though! Now you may consider him a pretty lucky guy, and I suppose he is. Then again, he has to license the Corvette, insure the Corvette, store the Corvette, and maintain the Corvette. While on the other hand, all I have to do is drive the Corvette. Who's the lucky guy now? 7

Jeff-C175 7,200 #4 Posted August 30, 2022 (edited) SUUUUHHHHWWEEEET Greg! Like my nieces and nephews when they were young, you can send it back to it's 'parents' when it needs feeding or it leaks substances. Can't get better than that! The shop class did a pretty nice job on that. Did they have to repaint also? What drivetrain is in it? 4L60 or T56 ? I believe the only engine that year was the 350 HP LS1 ? Not sure about IL tax laws, but you might have left out pay income tax on the Corvette. I know that the Fed's will want their cut. 1

Yes he did have to pay tax, but I don't think it was much. It is a '97. We're not talking 10's of thousands of $'s.
Sparky-(Admin) 21,315 #7 Posted August 31, 2022 Nice! How cool would it be to win that! I kinda miss my 94 Vette. Registered as a classic vehicle kept the property tax here in Ct at around $500/year. 1
