lawnranger 0 #1 Posted August 30, 2022 HELP. The drive belt on my 1980’s 314-A finally gave out about a month and a half ago and since then I have been to at least 4 different stores and tried about about 8-10 different belts trying to get one to fit. I’ve tried 5/8ths x 82 and it slides out of place after about 100 feet of driving, I’ve only been able to get one 5/8x81 on and it was too tight to drive. I’ve provided model information and got parts numbers, the recommended belt has differed but has either been the 81 or 82 by 5/8ths and neither has worked. At this point I want to drive the thing off a cliff. If anyone has any advice or found the holy belt I could sure use some guidance.

squonk 41,309 #4 Posted August 30, 2022 (edited) How bout some pictures? Aftermarket belts work fine. You might have something going on with a pulley causing you original belt to fail and throwing off the new ones. 5/8" X82" (Napa 5L820W) is the correct size.
