We had a gravel pit and we would ride along the outer rim like it was the high banks of Daytona! There was some woods on the land we used to ride. (That's where my foot got caught on the vine.) There was a stream about 4 ft wide running thru the middle. No one ever crossed it. I used to wear chest waders and tried stepping into it and it went right up to my arm pits!
