Compatibility chart for 310-8

Recommended Posts

I was looking at the chart for my horse and noticed it says the clevis hitch is for non ground engaging implements. If so, what should I use for a middle buster plow?

What is a PAL implement?

Thanks

I have forgotten what PAL stands for.

Wheel Horse determined what other manufacturers' equipment could be used on the tractors and made a Permitted Attachment List is just a guess.

If you go back and check the non-ground engaging attachments may be for the lighter 200-Series tractors.

I see it now in the 1992-93 model years but not there for 1985-86

Perhaps the limiting factor was the 4-pinion differential and 1" axles.

The transmission on a 310-8 should handle most anything you pull behind it. While lighter duty than the 1.125 axles and 8 pinion diff, it's still as rugged as every 3 speed 1960 model and after that came before it.

I've used a Brinly moldboard plow behind mine in hard red clay as well as a cultivator. The wheels will spin before you break anything in most cases, unless you have a crazy amount of weights on the tractor.

With a middle buster, it's all about leverage. If the ground is unbroken, it's hard on any machine. How deep you run it is where you can get into trouble. I wouldn't think you'd break anything unless you try to go max depth in high gear with alot of rocks in the soil.
