Saved another wheelhorse saturday from sitting in a field

This time I picked up a nice B100- 8. Guy just had it sitting out in the weather. I got there and he threw a brand new battery in it, cranked it over a few times and it fired right up.

Steering is tight, runs great, and the lights even work

paint is faded but there is hardly any dents in the tins. Some small rust on the back fender, but im going to leave it. I like that patina look

Best part......

It came with a bunch of attachments (which are now listed for sale on the forum here as i have most of them already)

came with

snowblower (old style)

48 side discharge mower deck

2 plows

and a original wheel horse wagon!!!

This now sits in the barn next to my c-141 8 speed

another one saved and off to find another!!

pics to come here shortly

Its not great, but ive seen worse. I plan on doing a drain, flush and refill. Maybe next weekend if i have time.

Engine oil was not pretty. Really black and clearly was ignored.

I already put on a new fuel filter and changed the oil with some 30w.

Ill run this 30w for a few weeks and then change it again.

Stegs: You did well. Looks like it cleaned up well. Enjoy it and do what Pete said buy putting Zink in the oil. Good stuff. Enjoy the tractor.

I do enjoy them. I use them almost every day. Either spraying the lawn, rolling the lawn, dethacthing, or pulling a wagon with firewood etc

I do like the garden tractor hobby. Generally speaking you can get these things cheap if you buy them right. They are extremely handy and seem to be reliable too (knock on wood)

I do want to find a hydro wheel horse with a tall chute blower for my driveway this winter. I can make a gear drive work, but hydro is just so handy

Im even looking at a case/ingersoll 226 with a blower.....only thing holding me back is the onan. Great engine, but really fussy. And parts are pricey!

much rather stay with wheel horse and kohler single cylinder engines.

Oh and I use kohler 10w30 with extra zinc for my oil. I just use the standard 30w to kinda "flush" the old stuff out before i put better 10w30 in

Old Kohlers run for ever if you take care of them, I have a 1967 K301 a 68 K181 and a B-80 K181. All good engines. I know Autos are nice to have if you have the room to keep them.  Meaning they do not roll. Enjoy the ride.
