Tightened up the steering

Recommended Posts

I replaced the steering wheel / fan gear mount on my Wheel Horse SK-486 today.  The old mount had wallowed out horizontally over time creating slack in the steering wheel.  The new mount cuts out about two inches of left-right play.  I would never have guessed that little bit of wear would account for so much play!914118C9-CB20-4E9E-8A83-D2226435EC4A.jpeg.0389e394b65e8add1a9255d41e9297c2.jpeg1D69F4B1-BDA2-420B-9766-EFE1DA5965B1.jpeg.714ff3e1406d11fc53ed1664139ba32c.jpeg

An upper bushing machined and press into the top of the lower steering block makes a HUGE difference... and the added undercuts on the shaft to hold grease...

Wow!!!!  Great solution!  I wish it wasn’t  just a little bit beyond my grade level.  Nice work!
