lynnmor 7,345 #6 Posted August 24, 2022 Be sure to replace the bolts or pins that these spin on, using severely worn parts will shorten wheel life. Grease the wheels often and they will last a long time.
pacer 3,174 #7 Posted August 24, 2022 I think you will find what @lynnmor is describing..... the 'axles' will very likely be worse than the rollers. I weld/build up my own in the shop, but if you arent equipped for that, at least hunt up some long 1/2" bolts.

The RM-325 and RM-365 through RM-327 and RM-367 series mower decks from '65 through '67 have their anti-scalp rollers very exposed to the grass cuttings. To prevent the shaft from spinning in (and wearing out) the bracket, they rely on the cotter pin through the shaft to engage a pin welded to the bracket. On mine, the cotters, pins, brackets and shafts were all in dire condition. Taking a cue from WH's pin technique for later front axles and for anti-scalp shafts on the larger decks, I ground off the remains of the pin, welded heavy washers to the brackets to overcome the wallowing, and made new ½" shafts with flags that I secured from spinning via drilled and tapped holes in brackets using a ¼" locking flange bolt. By the way, I've gotten new direct replacement gage wheels with solid bushings and grease zerks from http://a-ztractor.com/. Worth it to me considering the load that these wheels carry, especially on the larger decks over bumpy lawns. Edited August 27, 2022 by Handy Don
