Pullstart 62,835 #1 Posted August 16, 2022 (edited) Anyone ever heard of this? Mrs. P. signed me up a while back and I got these stickers, but never knew why. Today, Mrs. P. got a call, there is a family about 30 minutes away, she’s disabled and he is deployed through the end of next summer. He’s a prior Marine, now National Guard. They’ll be receiving from us, pro-Bono lawn care until he returns. That likely means I’ll be mowing my own lawn more often, if I’ll be blocking out time to do other’s out of the goodness of my heart Edited August 16, 2022 by Pullstart 6

953 nut 55,190 #5 Posted August 16, 2022 Never heard of this organization but many churches including mine do the same type of things for deployed service members and people recuperating from surgery or injuries. 1
Pullstart 62,835 #7 Posted August 17, 2022 I spoke to the wife of the soldier today. He is currently stateside training, then will be home for a couple weeks next month, then on to Southern US, then deployed to Syria for a year. They have equipment and she’ll provide fuel, she just needs someone to run it. Sounds like a good motorcycle ride away and some mowing each week. And no hauling my equipment! 7
Pullstart 62,835 #8 Posted August 18, 2022 I met Sam today, and was honored to use Mitch’s tools to make a nice looking lawn. Surely inspires me to do a better job on my own! I think like his military hair cut schedule, their 2 waters a day is destined for frequent cuttings! Sam sent Mrs. P a nice bouquet of fresh flowers and offered me access to whatever cold refreshments I’d like out of the garage fridge. I spent more time weed whacking than mowing. I thought initially that I could bring Rylee along to mow while I trim, but the big bad Husky with the 60” deck was pretty twitchy and not as easy to maneuver as my 52” Scag. I’m honored to help a soldier while he prepares for and takes his second tour overseas. 3
