Judging by the lumps & bumps on the tin, I'd say she was always a fine worker...

Love the Black Hoods!!!

Mine say “Hi” to their cousin…!!! :greetings-clappingyellow:

And @ebinmaine they think that’s crazy talk using her as some kinda organ donor ponzi scheme… :snooty: :hand: :angry-nono:  They said something to the effect “does he need a lesson…?” :kbutt:

I’d watch your back out in them woods of yours… Two of em’ are ninja quiet, being electric and all… you’d be Layin’ out cold in a trailer (they know where there are a few trailers available) heading to the hills before you knew what hit ya… :violence-blades:

Just sayin’ perhaps you should keep a Black Hood in your stable. Might be good insurance… help you sleep

better… :handgestures-thumbupright:

Won't stay here on permanent like but it may be rehomed instead o' being parted out.

Yessir. Runs and drives fine.

Smokes a bit.

I'm generally not big on dismantling a complete tractor to get components unless something else is gone/broken.

That's why I say it may get rehomed.

Another 16hp C-series.

...I... don't...have...the...words.

At least not the ones that a Moderator wouldn't have to delete.

Sigh.... Nice find Eb. :P

Eric if it runs and drives and 16hp maybe make a skidder out it so you can haul big timber out of the woods? Class A worker.

Absolutely agreed on the Class A worker!

Great power.

I prefer the sitting position of the older (pre-1978) chassis.

I hesitate to bring this up... I may hear your voice from the southern direction all the way to Maine...

This is number 6. I have a line on a couple more...

But if it makes you feel any better... Likely I won't keep the Black Hood. 🤪

Not sure of significance, but my E 141’s both left last night under cover of darkness, headed east. All my power tools and some shovels are gone… :confusion-confused:

I wonder if it will make the news?

I'm off to :text-google: looking for missing persons in Maine...

Eric,  I like that tractor a lot, good thing it's all the way across the continent. Lol

Mainly just curious of how much smoother it is with the shaker plate.  My 341 shakes bad enough I feel beat up when I mow with it.

Your member location shows you being about 3150 miles away. If you head out right now it shouldn't take more than a week to get here. 🤪

The vibration is... different. Less harsh but still prevalent.

I have 2 other running K341 engines and they have individual personalities for sure.

You may want to check your own timing. Perhaps change it a hair to see what it does different on your own machine. A couple thousandths one or the other on the points settings can make a difference.

Also consider checking the balance gears in the engine for excessive wear.

Another interesting issue I've come up on in the last few years is that certain things produce a vibration that isn't friendly to me.

It is a possibility that changing your seat could help substantially.

I had a C-161 with shaker plate. Best thing I ever did to that tractor was installing soild mounts. With the rubber mounts the vibration was so bad it tore the air cleaner from the carb. Change them you will wish you did it sooner.

Nice tractor, it looks like an 83 or 84. I mowed my field with my 84 today. They are strong workers with the K 341. I find them very comfortable and reliable. Yours is very handsome with beautiful patina. Why not lube it up, change the oil and filters and work the hell out of it. I think once you put some time in the saddle you'll appreciate the toughness and simplicity of your C-165.
