ebinmaine 67,571 #1 Posted August 14, 2022 Can a Kohler 16 HP shaker plate engine be used as a direct swap for a non shaker? I have a possibility on a swap for an 80-ish 16 HP to be temporarily used in 1974/75 tractors. Anything I need to know?
wallfish 17,011 #2 Posted August 14, 2022 If you use the shaker plate yes. The oil pan is different on those engines 1

Pullstart 62,905 #6 Posted August 15, 2022 You can fit a shaker plate engine without the plate on a Frank-enstein!
pfrederi 17,741 #7 Posted August 16, 2022 Small base blocks as used for shaker mounts will not directly accept the bigger oil pans. No heed to change anything just get some spacers and you may have to drill two new holes in the frame. Put a Shaker mount K341 with the small oil pan on an Electro12 frame. No drive pulley Belt guard mods needed. PTO worked also 2
