WHX?? 48,815 #1 Posted August 7, 2022 (edited) Which stands for Dodge County Antique Power Club. Suppose to be a relaxer after the Symco show but got rain Sat. Nite and had to pick up in the rain on Sunday but all was good, we were all ready for a bath. Very hot and humid the rest of the show. Enjoy brothers more to come. A pair of just awesome tractors here. The one had a Detroit 2 stroke diesel you could hear it coming. Edited August 7, 2022 by WHX?? Pics 6 9

Achto 27,571 #4 Posted August 8, 2022 (edited) I have a few pictures to throw in the ring as well. An Avery boiler over engine tractor running the saw mill. View from the cab of the Avery This Avery also has a steam powered generator that runs the lights and a small fan in the cab. The innovation that went into so many of these machines, along with the materials and workmanship that let them survive until now just astonishes me. It makes it so clear what technology did for farming in that era. The vehicles, that is, not necessarily the cooking equipment! Thanks for sharing! Pullstart 62,851 #11 Posted August 8, 2022 Those big long PTO belts… I’m always so mind blown that they don’t fall off. Is it a shape of the PTO drum or something, or just perfect alignment?

Achto 27,571 #13 Posted August 8, 2022 7 hours ago, Pullstart said: Is it a shape of the PTO drum or something, or just perfect alignment? A little of both. The pulleys have a slight crown to them that helps keep the belt on. But if not aligned properly they will fall off. You will also notice that some belts run with a twist in them, this is in cases where the implement has to turn the opposite direction that the engine does. 5

WHX?? 48,815 #15 Posted August 8, 2022 (edited) Bad news for the show is Dan and brother Tim were loading big tractors in wet and slippery conditions. Tim was driving and applied brake at the wrong time and Minnie jumped the ramps and tipped over. Dan yelled for Tim to bail and he did but hit the ground pretty hard. He was OK but sore this AM. Minnie got a tweaked hood & sheet metal and busted radiator but nothing that can't be fixed. No pics from me as I was having my own loading issues at the time but glad no one was hurt. Club helped get Minnie back on rubber and going back to get her on a flatbed when things dry up. Lessons learned and a stern reminder big and little tractors cam be dangerous.
