well guys; again I thank you all for your thoughts and comments and I really appreciate it 'sad though that I have been a wheel horse guy for years as my dad bought me my first horse to mow our huge lawn and boy was it  a huge lawn to mow as my other 3 brothers were always gone when that time came; we had the old style mower and not the gas types back when ;well my dad came home early from work and caught my oldest brother drag racing with the neighbor boy well the horse went back to the dealer and well you the story ;but any ways though the years I have always been a wheel horse guy and though the years I have had so many and now at the present time there are 5 in the barn' again every one has been the Kohler motors 'which are easy to work on and now that I bought this Tecumseh nothing but issues ' and I am sure that most have seen my posts and so many  have commented on it ;but I still can not get it to start ;the air gap has been set as the Manuel states ;it will turn over but no spark so I am going to attach a few pictures of the wiring 'first the red wire that is attached to the key switch as the diagram says ; but where does it go to ;and the 2 wires that go to the rectifier plus the green one as that is attached to the positive side ; the one wire shows current where the other wire does not '

it is a 1968 charger 9 with the 10 horse Tecumseh  motor  any thoughts sure would be appreciated

This manual should answer your questions. The wiring diagram is color coded thanks to @gwest_ca.

thanks and yes I have the wiring diagram but I am not sure that is red wire goes as if you look at the end of that wire and the connection it seems odd 'as it is a u shape connection so the previous owner might had attached that wire some place else 'again these Tecumseh motors are new to me as I have always the Kohler motors

thanks again and yes I do have the wiring diagram ;but my issue is  the red wire that is suppose to go to the stator which is behind the fly wheel ;but as I have mentioned before that the red wire is attached to the key switch which is the correct switch a 3 prong 'but on the end of that red wire it has a different wire connection on the end as a u shaped connection ; how that wire could had came off the stator is odd but it happens; I - might be wrong here but that doesn't seem right ; sorry as though the years I have had Kohler motors and these Tecumseh are so different ;the tractor for being a 78 is in really nice condition and it would be so great to get it to run ;  rather than the wiring diagram would you know what the problem is
