jameschap 7 #1 Posted August 4, 2022 my deck on my 416-8 is 3/4 inch higher on left side than right side and it scalps badly on right side..... i have checked all lift parts and readjusted all brackets and find no problem ....my question is could the deck be twisted from previous owner ??? tunahead72 2,411 #4 Posted August 5, 2022 I don't know a lot about these, but the gage wheels on some of the 42" RD decks can be adjusted to level the mower from left to right. Do you have an owner's manual for your deck? Or do you know its model number? Rick3478 428 #5 Posted August 5, 2022 Deck shells do sometimes get bent, especially from hitting tree roots. Also, the lift mechanism doesn't raise from the center, so if not adjusted right can hold one side up a bit. 8ntruck 6,993 #6 Posted August 5, 2022 The typical Wheel Horse deck rides on the gage wheels to control cutting height and levelness. The gage wheels are typically mounted on a rod that extends across the deck connecting the two gage wheels. If that rod gets twisted, it will probably put the deck out of level. Good luck. If you figure out what is wrong, let us know what you find. Someone standing on the deck can cause that gage-wheel shaft to bend. Also, if it has been apart, make sure that the mounting clamps for that rod on both sides have the same spacers in them.
