Ashton Vancoutren 36 #1 Posted August 3, 2022 Does anyone know what size the drive belt from the engine to the deck would be on a 502?
ri702bill 8,296 #2 Posted August 3, 2022 (edited) Download the RM 361 manual - part 71, WH Part Number 1577. It is a 1/2 wide V belt, 28 inches long. Check your tensioner pulley - the bearings take a beating and are replacable - same pulley as the engine drive belt tensioner. Bill Edited August 3, 2022 by ri702bill 1/2 inch wide, not 3/8 as the others.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,036 #3 Posted August 3, 2022 Some of the early mower decks had odd model number formats
peter lena 8,589 #4 Posted August 3, 2022 @ri702bill agree with you on that idler pully , like to get a matching size/ type with a larger bearing , you know where i'm going ,T/S usually has that type in stock , only have to add a 3/8 " I/D bronze bushing , for a very quiet replacement , go grease , pete
peter lena 8,589 #5 Posted August 3, 2022 @ri702bill did over my idler pulleys , grease change and bushing , they are so solid and smooth , its like no effort in the clutch use, pete

Above advice assumes you have the stock engine position and PTO pulley size, of course! Looks good, keep the pictures coming.
