Ed, I've been using Gator blades on both of my 42" RD and they work great. I don't have the model number but those rascals have a decent curl on the back edge with 3 prominent points on each side. 6 per blade. No issues with striking the deck and other than the classic RD windrow, the lawn looks very even. I do find that the grass tends to stick more heavily to certain spots on my decks but I think that is the result of how the blades turn. This past weekend I dropped the deck I use all summer and touched up a couple of rust areas with a wire wheel and new paint. Today I coated it with a lanolin spray and let that dry for a couple of hours in the sun before I put it back on the tractor. It seems to help but I may have to find a real tin knocker in the future and make a stainless inner shell. 1 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

As long as the grass isn't too high it cuts fine. peter lena 8,589 #6 Posted August 1, 2022 @dalez i,m lovin that picture ! jack mine up under the center wheel / frame area , so it stays in the sun longer , when that deck gets hot , it really draws / sucks in the oil , once it stains black , you have established a rust proof base , been doing that for years , very glad for you , it works , greasy , pete 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
