jake3 0 #1 Posted July 31, 2022 I just purchased the tractor/mower this week and have found the gear at the end of the steering shaft has been damaged, partially stripped. It runs fine and mows but can not steer. Any ideas for parts or repair? Have not found any replacement parts yet or used parts.

Check our "vendors" forum, in this case call Lincoln at AZ tractors.

gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,041 #4 Posted July 31, 2022 If the part is priced it is still available from Toro https://www.partstree.com/search/?type=model&term=211-4
953 nut 55,223 #6 Posted July 31, 2022 Unfortunately your 211 is a later model and Toro began to skimp on the quality that Wheel Horse was known for. The steering components do tend to have some weakness. First place to call would be Lincoln at A-Z Tractor, https://a-ztractor.com/. If he hasn't got the parts you need give Joe a call, https://joesoutdoorpower.com/. These are both good reputable dealers.
Ed Kennell 38,170 #7 Posted July 31, 2022 to the Jake. The TORO vertical engine 200 series are a riding lawn mower. A much lower quality of construction than the Wheel Horse horizontal engine garden tractors. At $251 for a new steering shaft from TORO, hopefully you can find a good used one from A to Z. You may want to search for an entire parts tractor that can sometimes be bought for less than a single part. Good luck
