daveoman1966 3,752 #3 Posted July 28, 2022 This is a section of the OEM manual showing how to get that apart. The pics aren't too good so read carefully.Sunstrand Hydro (part 3).pdf I'll follow-up with some better pics...if I can find them.

pfrederi 17,741 #5 Posted July 28, 2022 The spring clip is prone to breakage when you press the shaft out. A couple years ago LJ Fluid power still had them....

gt14rider 765 #9 Posted July 28, 2022 Got it apart, motor slipper block and slippers look ok, but thrust plate on swash plate is broken, piece laying on slippers, slippers chewed up on sides, but not bad on top. Should I replace slippers or clean them up
daveoman1966 3,752 #10 Posted July 28, 2022 As it happens, I have the replacement Thrust Washer...not chiipe or damaged at all. As for the piston slippers. The edges should not be rounded like yours are. Not sure what caused them to get that 'radius' on the outer edge. The face of these slippers don't look bad. I'd refinish them with progressively fine sandpaper..200--300--400 grit paper on a FLAT surface. Put a couple drops of oil on the sandpaper and refinish using a figure '8' pattern...removing just enough brass material to vanquish the scratches. Do the same with the back side of the cylinder block AND the brass/steel Valve PLATE. Don't try for a mirror finish....just a smooth buff finish will do. gt14rider 765 #11 Posted July 28, 2022 Cleaned up motor slippers and block, valve plate, cleaned up one slipper,on pump, cross fingers. How does the last valve plate look, one little scratch

How does the last valve plate look, one little scratch If this was mine, I'd continue to waxon/wasoff this valve plate. Understand that the HOT oil/ATF will bypass thru tiny scratches like that...leading to loss of pressure, causing less than optimum power performance. If you are concerned about taking off too much material (cumulatively) between the Slippers, Base of Cyl Block, and this Valve plate, you could esily compensate for that by trimming a circular piece of STAINLESS shim stock--- .010 or .015 --- and placing it BEHIND the Thrust Washer. Use your thrust washer as a template to cut out the piece of shim stock...but trim it just a bit smaller diameter(s). I've dont this shim stock thingy MANY times. I can send you .010 and .005 shim stock for you to trim...or I can trim it. Edited July 29, 2022 by daveoman1966
gt14rider 765 #13 Posted July 30, 2022 Got a little more done, @daveoman1966I need to get the thrust plate 200188, and spring clip, working on getting all the o-rings and seals, buggerd up swash plate needle bearing pulling seal
daveoman1966 3,752 #14 Posted July 30, 2022 I stated earlier (with pic) that I have the THRUST WASHER #200188... I also have the BEARING for the Swash Plate that you fubar. So, I have on hand the Spring 200210, Spring Clip 200204, Thrust washer 200188, and the Swash Plate Bearing As for seals, gaskets, etc... there WAS a kit available from this source, but kinda pricey. Here is a pic of that kit...for all of the Sundstrand units similar to yours. It is a VERY OLD source. There is, on Red Square, a cross-ref listing for all the SEALS and O-RINGs you'll need on an as-needed basis, instead of a whole kit....likely available at a good local hardware. (NOTE: Don't use O-rings designed for plumbing...they'll not hold up to petro products.) The gaskets s/b available at dealers or on-line. One source for the kit is: Nova Hydraulics 6212 Parliament Dr.Indianapolis, IN 46220 Phone: 317-322-0242 http://www.novahydraulics.com/contact.html Another source may be: L J FLUID PRODUCTS... or.. B J HYDRAULICS. (Google them)
gt14rider 765 #15 Posted August 2, 2022 Murphy's law, things were going to good. Dave would you have a 200208, (retaining ring) and 200209 (washer)? Found this from 2020
gt14rider 765 #16 Posted August 2, 2022 Richard England confirmed it is the right retaining ring.
gt14rider 765 #17 Posted August 12, 2022 Does anyone know if a 90 1173 inertial parts are compatible with 90 1136? Pump cylinder block and slippers? Sundstrand manual does not show different parts.
daveoman1966 3,752 #18 Posted August 12, 2022 Cylinder block and Piston slippers are the same for 90-1136, 90-1137, 90-1140, 90-1172, 90-1173. The hyd Motor on the 90-1173 has an external brake drum...for the 'D' series, but internal block & pistons are the same.
gt14rider 765 #19 Posted August 12, 2022 Thanks Dave, pulled it apart, I'm good to go, block and slippers cleaned up nicely.
daveoman1966 3,752 #20 Posted August 12, 2022 (edited) Looks good... slippers are MUCH better than your originals. Don't forget to put some ASSEMBLY LUBE on any and all metal-to-metal contact points. Edited August 12, 2022 by daveoman1966

gt14rider 765 #24 Posted August 15, 2022 @oliver2-44, @ineedanother I disassembled and degreased with simple green in boiling hot water, then soaked the end caps in evaporust for a day, wire brushed, washed and air dried, self etching primer and topped with regal red. The pump housing I used aluminum cleaner (simple green extreme, I use it in my ultrasound cleaner ) and wire brush. I'd be careful of blasting, don't want any media to contaminate the hydro system
