The Freightliner Guy 1,327 #177 Posted August 24, 2022 (edited) Good finally a tractor you’d want to ride cuz sitting on the fenders must be terrible can I see the front of it Edited August 24, 2022 by The Freightliner Guy
josephbruce11212@gmail.co 262 #178 Posted August 24, 2022 Also added a seat stop!! Everytime you fill the fenders it would jam in the tire tread....no more!! What did you want to see the front of?

josephbruce11212@gmail.co 262 #182 Posted August 25, 2022 Got tired of the fenders scratching off the new paint....added the spring stops from the B115 seat mounting bracket to where the original stops were. Works nice, seat doesn't latch but eh...

Well... coming from someone who has fallen off the back of a tractor... you might want to figure out a way to get it to latch... Or just go to a back-cracker for you to get relatched after you fall off... Don

I've been thrown off the back of my C160. Do NOT leave the latch in a non usable state.

Oh yeah, they sure will even in stock form... I try my best to keep my machines from doing that... (unless I do it intentionally). At 15 mph on my 800S in second gear, I can still pull the front wheels off the ground... 5-9 thousand rpm... SO yeah... everything has to be secure. I really need a safety harness... Ed Kennell 38,100 #190 Posted August 25, 2022 (edited) You may be able to glue a piece of 1/8" rubber instead of the buttons and still get the seat to latch. Or a couple of these from ACE hardware. Edited August 25, 2022 by Ed Kennell
josephbruce11212@gmail.co 262 #191 Posted August 28, 2022 We now have a latching seat, in the words of Mike Rowe, "safety third". It's not fully latched, but doesn't move while latch, work in progress. Also, my search for front wheels as dried up at the moment. Going to at least clean and paint the ones I have. Delmont Apple Festival is soon approaching and she's gotta be ready!
josephbruce11212@gmail.co 262 #192 Posted August 28, 2022 update, latch does not stay latched for long use. I think I will ditch the rubber bumpers, maybe for the ones @Ed Kennell mentioned....

That was the idea I had this morning. I did take the springs off and then washered the back side....but the rubber is what the hold up is....
josephbruce11212@gmail.co 262 #195 Posted August 28, 2022 Ended up eliminating the stops in previous pictures. Found a couple grommets. The clearance for fender to frame is not as high as I liked, but we will see if they keep the rubbing down 1
josephbruce11212@gmail.co 262 #196 Posted August 28, 2022 fully latches with no movement. With me sitting on seat, seems to be about 1/8" clearance.

I've seen folks use very thin metal edge guards (think door edge trim) on the fender to prevent scratching the transmission tunnel. We have thicker stuff on the back of the hood on a couple. Adds a nice finished look and stops the hood rattling. 2

I did try some rubber hose initially to "feel" it out, I didn't think about around the hood though....good suggestion
