Prestons Hobby 76 #1 Posted July 23, 2022 Hello again. I found a very cool one today. At least it is cool to me because I have never put my eyes on a wheel horse tractor like this one before but, I am new to the roster. This is a C160 and is hydrostatic drive with a hydraulic valve body on the side for lifting and lowering deck which is currently not on the tractor for the photo shoot obviously. Are these tractors common amongst those who know what normal is? Thank you 2

ebinmaine 67,659 #7 Posted July 24, 2022 @Prestons Hobby NIIIIICE. I have a nice assortment of C160 tractors. One of them is a '75 Automatic. I bought it specifically and only to plow snow. Turned out that was an excellent recommendation by the folks here on Redsquare. Well done!
Prestons Hobby 76 #8 Posted July 24, 2022 Thank you all very much. Not sure how this happened so quick but I think I’m either addicted or infected by the Red Square virus. 😂. i am currently the owner of 8 wheel horse tractors now. 😳 but this newest one definitely got me pumped up. 1

Prestons Hobby 76 #10 Posted July 24, 2022 Thank you Don for asking. This one is a 1964 model 604. This baby starts so easy and idles down to almost hit & miss rpm and never misses a beat. Very cool little tractor 1
Prestons Hobby 76 #11 Posted July 24, 2022 Just to explain that picture because it is cropped out and…. I hope this does not offend anyone but 😁…… you can see a chain hooked to the back of the tractor and a sign in the background because…. Somehow I had a green tractor (not to mention any brand names) in my garage that I decided to sell since my garage is filling up with Red Tractors and the John ….. I mean the green tractor wouldn’t start and had to pull it back to the shop. 😂 1
Prestons Hobby 76 #12 Posted July 24, 2022 This one is my 314Hydro. Good working tractor but having an issue with the low idle a little bit. Haven’t really had time to mess with it yet because I’ve been on a hunt lately. 😁 1
Prestons Hobby 76 #13 Posted July 24, 2022 GT2500 Anniversary. Don’t really know much about these. There seems to be controversy on how much these are liked or disliked and the value they hold. 1
Prestons Hobby 76 #14 Posted July 24, 2022 I will share more as I get them cleaned up and find the right shade of lipstick. Thank you for the welcoming messages from all of you.
Prestons Hobby 76 #15 Posted July 24, 2022 My remaining models are… C-85 312-8 B112 and the last one I am not sure until I get it cleaned up because the previous owner painted it black and covered the sticker with the model #…. But if I had to guess it is probably a 200 series. 1

Idle RPM is set at 1200 for a VERY important reason. Low RPM is ONLY to be used right before shut down and some folks don't even do that. 6 hours ago, Prestons Hobby said: GT2500 Anniversary. Everyone has preferences toward different models. Value is more based on what the current owner's opinion is. Nice tractor.

peter lena 8,638 #25 Posted July 24, 2022 @Prestons Hobby referring to that 314 H , the time to do something is when it shows its head, you might start with some gas cleaning treatment , drop that carb bowl , look for crud , clean out and remove , have a fuel filter on that ? change it , you probably have debris in the tank , my personal suggestion on carb cleaning , aside from removal and disassembly is to use your hand , on the carb intake and seafoam carb cleaner sucked thru those , nozzles / jets , has done a very thorough clean out for me . personally never let a problem go on , once its shows up . don,t collect problems , get rid of them . would also give that rig , an oil soaked , clean cloth rub down , very easy , stop rust / kill off the grunge . good luck with that , pete
