tractorchick 399 #1 Posted July 23, 2022 Hi - My name is Kate Goelzhauser and I am the Managing Editor of a little magazine called Lawn & Garden Tractor Magazine. It's a small, home-based business in southern Indiana. It's been in publication since 2006. It features all brands of lawn and garden tractors and equipment. We had excellent representation of Wheel Horse machinery until Covid hit. Since it shut down shows, our writers didn't have a good source to get photos and stories. I've tried to lasso in a few writers, but there has not been much response. This site is overflowing with stories, so my goal is to track some down, reach out to owners with some good quality photos, and start running Wheel Horse articles again. If you have a story about your tractor, your collection, a technical tip, a how-to article....anything.... please reach out to me here or at Kate@LagtMag.com. If you have something on this site, tag me or send me the link to your story. In anything that is published, you and Red Square will both be recognized and we will send you three free issues with that article as well. Thanks so much! 11 8 4

ebinmaine 67,553 #3 Posted July 23, 2022 Kate, Trina and I have several Wheelhorses we'd be very interested in sharing with your readers. Trina has 3. Her first is Pony. 657. Restored a few years ago. Next is Pigpen. 867. Still proudly wearing it's work clothes and earning it's keep. Last is a very special one. Millie is The Military Tribute Tractor. 856. Full restoration 2021. All painted up in Military Colors. It's a beautiful tractor that gets a lot of attention wherever it goes. Somehow I've been lucky enough to get ahold of 5 C160s. Cinnamon Horse is a 1974 8 speed. My go-to worker. I have 2 with the rare Tecumseh engine OHV160. A 1975 C160 Automatic redone by a former Wheelhorse dealership in NJ back about 12, 15 years ago. The last is a 1975 C160 8 speed I just recently was chosen to be the next steward of. 2 decades plus family owned prior to me. We'd be glad to shoot the breeze if you're interested... If you have a story about your tractor, your collection, a technical tip, a how-to article....anything I'm also in Southern Indiana, and now have 3 machines. All of my tractors were... what most people would consider junk. My L-157 started out as a rust-bucket... but now sports a 51 horsepower fully custom built Duromax engine. I have an 800 Special which was completely restored... and powered with a 25 horsepower fully custom built Tillotson 9,000 RPM beast... I have a complete build sheet here: And lastly, my 416-8 which I literally just "finished" today... engine completely rebuilt, all new wiring, completely rebuilt tractor. I got this tractor for free from @davem1111... and the build thread is here: You can reach out to me at any time. Don 2

c-series don 8,711 #6 Posted July 24, 2022 Hello Kate, I have been receiving your magazine since sometime around the start of it. I always filed them away after I was done reading them. After all these years I had a stack, a very tall stack! I often wondered what I was going to do with all of them? That answer came two years ago at the Wheel Horse show. I was lucky enough to meet a young boy who was carrying some tires around. He had a huge smile on his face and told me that these were the tires he was looking for! His knowledge of Wheel Horses and tractors in general was nothing less than impressive. I asked him and his mother if they get your magazine, and they said no they don’t. After talking with this kid for a while about things adult men talk about, you know like Power Stroke diesels! I quickly realized what I wanted to do with my stack of magazines! His mother was kind enough to give me their address after I told her I had something I wanted to give to her son. So I sent him my stack of magazines and a large metal Power Stroke Diesel sign that I had.( I later found out that he put it up in his room!) Kate, I wanted to let you know that your magazines have brought happiness three times. Once when I received them, a second time when I sent them out and a third time when they were received by this young man!! For this I say “Thank you!” I have your number and once I get my rear in gear I’ll be in touch with my Wheel Horse story. P.S Here’s a good cover shot of my herd of horses! 😂😂😀 8 2

Wheel Horse bought out the company I believe in the late 60’s . To this date I don’t know of another in existence. People have said they have seen one, but I have never seen another one yet. Yes, Matt did an excellent job! But it's quite a commitment to do six stories a year plus photos. We pay our regular writers, but sometimes family lift + work life can be overwhelming enough without adding a side gig to the mix. I had high expectations to go to Portage this year since my husband has retired and we have flexibility but Brandon said that he and his wife wanted to go, so Mike and I made plans for a short get-away. Ended up that Brandon had to cancel at the last minute, and Mike and I had already left town. Total bummer! I'm glad to see that Wheel Horse area in Portage has really taken off! 1
Sarthurs01 824 #17 Posted July 28, 2022 @tractorchick our collection all stared back in 2018 when my wife’s grandfather gave my first son a rj58. We worked on it all winter to restore it to show his grate grandfather. That one quickly spread to more and a younger brother that needed a matching rj too. I currently have 3 fully restored wheel horse and 2 preserve ones. A ton of pic of all of them too 2 7
