ri702bill 8,279 #6 Posted July 23, 2022 (edited) I worked twice for Brown & Sharpe, first in the now long gone Machine Tool Division and later in the only game left, Metrology. Most of the folks I worked with had the then top of the line digital readout 6" dial caliper; I still had my dial readout Mitutoyo - still do. While I was there, the R&D group were working on the ultimate lazymans dial caliper - a digital one that TALKED if the reading was held for 5 seconds. A swing and a miss - battery life was horendous.
