When I moved into my current house with 2 acres to mow. The grass was seriously 5-6' tall. I put the 312-8 in 2lo....drove over the grass, ....let r eat.... Don't believe me, ask my wife and son and neighbors. ( All of them laughed at me at the time, but now tell me how much better this place looks) 😊👍🏼 Took me 4 times of mowing and 2 sets of mower belts. But I got r done. That's what lo range is for lmao 😂

High RPM low speed seems to work for me cutting rough stuff

Not routine, but when I need to it works just fine… no issues with belt.

I also just cut some pretty high stuff with my E-141 battery powered tractor and deck. 3 electric motors for the mower. One per blade. Didn’t break a sweat…

Does a slower wheel speed help with traction?

Yes and no, alot depends on the tires and what soil you're in.

I was pushing crushed asphalt the other morning and with 24x12x12 ag lugs i found that tire speed was my best friend...1st gear high range full throttle gave me the most ideal tractive force.  Raising torque and cutting wheel speed (low range) really didnt help me because i already had more than enough torque to spin both tires, but the tire speed kept the forward motion up because it prevented me from just digging holes.  I didnt have enough torque to go up to 2nd high.  My slip rate with loaded tires and 230lb operator was about 30%

Ill add in...that unidrive was absolutely getting a workout and the M12 was all the way on the governor..

That isn't always the question that needs to be asked, but maybe in this instance it is. Other times it's more about friction and/or torque. The pullers might be able to speak more about that...

Never went up against 6’ grass, but low will definitely give those blades the time they need to chomp through the higher or denser stuff with the B-80/8.  I’ve used one high with the deck raised for pass #1 and then dropped it and used the low gears when dealing with really high and stubborn, dense growth.

Sorry… Working solo and no photo team.

Actually a, shall we say,  operation.

May or may not have happened. Stealth electric tractor may or may not have been used. Quiet. Somewhat dark. Property owner unaware. :eusa-think:

Hhhmmm… wonder who cut those weeds and where??? :confusion-confused:

Looks great now and visibility at sidewalk crossing now good…:handgestures-thumbupright:

These “Tesla” :wh:‘s got some great benefits. One being they are so quiet you don’t alert the neighbors, cops, Al Gore, to the activity… :hide:
