Which lift hole? Cultivator slot hitch for 310-8

Recommended Posts

Pullstart

I’m replacing the lift cable on a 310-8 without the rock shaft.  I was wondering if the top or bottom hole should be used on the lift quadrant?  I looked through the 300 series OM without any luck.

I even greased the hitch pin!  :banana-wrench:

This cultivator came from Brian at K&B Horse Parts.  My buddy was in need of it, but also a tractor to pull it

I know for C series the rototiller with rear rock shaft calls for the lowest hole, hence most throw/lift.

With the slot hitch I would just experiment with how much lift you get from the different holes...

I ended up trying the bottom hole. I figured it would be the most throw if it works and it would be the easiest to remove if I were wrong!

Lol.

Agreed, top hole can be a PITA !

That cultivator looks heavy, an assist spring might be a good idea too...

Well, our ground is harder than a rock as it hasn’t rained good in weeks.  I see critters are getting the squash plants before they even grow squashes!

It still digs, even with turf tires and no weight!

As for the garden, we did containers this year.  I just tilled it and planted squash for observation…
