So that narrows it down to a 12 14 16 HP.

I'm not sure how to differentiate other than the obvious of measuring bore n stroke.

That Tecumseh big block style is likely the best engine they ever made.

Seem to recall :wh: having a 16 HP OHV engine in a limited production run of "C" series in 1974. The hood stand and dash stand had risers added to make up for the engine height. I think @ebinmaine has one.

Yessir. The C160-8 (no hydros) was made with the Tecumseh OHV160 that year only.

C120 was a 2 year span.

Well, that wasnt hard...put in a hot battery and it spun over. Put fuel in and it poured out the line...new line run and it fired right up, ran it about an hour, adjusted on the carb and governor stop, idle...it runs down the road in high gear but its stuck in high range.  Steering is surprisingly snug.

Too bad the wiring, and sheetmetal is so bad, they really hacked on it hard to shoehorn that engine in.

Oh and its a 16hp variant

Yep, solid runner, gotta find a dipstick, the top of the cap is busted off this one but it still works.

Not sure what to do at this point, its got alot of faults, but it runs, drives and steers, rear tank is there but not hooked up. No deck, manual lift.  Rear fender is rusted badly in important places, missing the original seat..
