wallfish 17,014 #28 Posted July 20, 2022 Something must've happened like some re'tard sued them because their unsupervised child saw something on youtube and got hurt doing it too. It's ALWAYS someone else's fault these days! Now they need to make rules for everyone else to CYA themselves. No matter what it is, the few will ruin it for the many, 10% of the people are 90% of the problem. 3

Sparky-(Admin) 21,338 #31 Posted July 20, 2022 Kinda didn’t want to weigh in on this one. But I will…I suspect the committee that makes decisions about what can or can’t be viewed on YouTube don’t have the slightest idea how to operate a tractor (lawn mower or farm tractor), have never hunted or fished, haven’t gone camping for a week in a tent etc. My money says they are all young people who’s parents hired a lawn service, went to fancy hotels and resorts for vacations, had a car given to them at the age of 16 and it was always repaired/serviced at a shop or dealership. They didn’t work on a farm in the summer or after school trying to make enough cash for a few gallons of gas and to take out your best girl. I had em in my high school…I drove a well worn 1974 Chevy Vega GT that I bought with my own money for $600 while some of the kids had nicer and newer cars than my dad had! This lack of real life experience makes them the worse choice for the decision on YT videos. Just my opinion. 8 1 1
lynnmor 7,308 #32 Posted July 20, 2022 (edited) Here is photo, that I took a few minutes ago, of the neighbor kid running a weed wacker that is twice as long as him..... barefoot in 90 degree heat. There are some kids that have a clue about work. Edited July 20, 2022 by lynnmor 2

Funny, I ran over a raccoon in a 74 Vega wagon that was so big it felt like the rear tires came off the ground. Back was packed with Pioneer home speakers thumping Beastie Boys. Oh man those were the days.😂 P.S. I bought my first car and I was 20 years old.

ClassicTractorProfessor 5,314 #40 Posted July 21, 2022 Good thing I never posted the video from this day on my channel, they would have thrown a fit about it too...that's my 9 year old nephew driving the Case SC...basically in full control of the tractor...I was standing on the drawbar to be able to run the hand clutch, but he was in full control of the steering and where he wanted to go. Sad to see what things are coming to, same as most of us here I grew up on this old equipment, and was taught at a young age to operate it but also to respect it. Can it be dangerous at times? Sure it can, but so can just about any other activity kids engage in. Should we ban all videos depicting kids playing sports, I mean I'm in the heart of farm country, we all grew up running tractors during the summer, and I have seen far more injuries on the football field or the basketball court than I have on a tractor. But it goes back to the fact that we were taught to use and respect said equipment, which I have no doubt in my mind that @PeacemakerJack @Pullstart and any others here who let their children or grandchildren would do so if they didn't feel that said children were responsible enough to be operating 3

Pullstart 62,916 #42 Posted July 21, 2022 @sjoemie himself no I don’t know this man, but he’s spot on! There are plenty of videos of kids racing their KX65 dirt bikes, wrecking and racing again. I was that skateboarding kid. Never could master a board slide, but I can tell you that to ollie down 20+ steps, there’s all kinds of chaos in that millisecond of dropping. I’ve snapped more boards and taken apart more new Christmas toys than I can count. My kid is that gymnast too. 16 hours a week she practiced before the pandemic shutdown. This wasn’t really that much effort for her. IMG_2010.MOV
953 nut 55,324 #43 Posted July 21, 2022 What about all the stunts that make it onto America's Funniest Videos TV program. You know that a lot of them resulted in trips to the ER yet you see the same sort of stuff on YouTube all the time. The Cinnamon Challenge didn't involve any equipment but put idiot kids in the hospital. I bet they are screening all cooking videos that use cinnamon in the recipe and eliminating them too.

At the end of the day, so what. When I appealed my strike that booted me for a week, I told ‘em feel free to take it down. Give me a chance to clean up the channel from what you consider horrible. sjoemie himself 3,068 #45 Posted July 21, 2022 @Pullstart if you liked that, checkout his channel. He's spot on about a lot of things IMHO. Also very well spoken and smart.. Anyhow.. social media is an, let's say, interesting landscape to navigate. Lot's of toes to be stepped on. Kinda funny if you ask me, especially because written text has the option of being read with totally the wrong mindset or 'tone of voice' if you will. Why let yourself get 'triggered' by something, someone wrote on the internet? I almost always try to relativize what someone is typing, assuming that the other person is trying to do good instead of harm. Works most of the time..

Tractorhead 9,064 #47 Posted July 21, 2022 It can be seen everywhere. Some Parents appears to pack their children into bubblefoil to protect them from the real World. Children do sometimes stupid things, exactly so as we did it also, i believe you all know what i mean. So i do it also myself in my Childhood. One part in my Live was Speed, yap i was an speedjunkie as they told it Today. Bumps and Bruises where happen but while we survived it, we learned our lesson out of that. The more as it was forbidden, the more it become interesting to try it out. My Father prohibits me to ride any Motocycles. My Uncle instead was my Mentor, he give me the ability to race in a controlled Area with his Pitbike with Helmet. That was just a Yamaha 50ccm but it runs quicker than allowed. The first lesson i learned the hard Way - Gravel is not funny when you crash On it. His riding guidlines help me quick and more than once smoothened my Crashs without massive damages. He allways stated „The better Way as to prohibit all things is to guide Kids in some sort of Actions“. Let them make mistakes they learn their lesson from. Give them the chance to learn it in controllable Area and give them the possibility to make Mistakes. Trust them more than you be willing and you be a huge Mentor for them, because they also trust your Guidelines automatically. I used the same parenting style on my Kids and he be right. The most Kidsthey made uncontrollable stupid things have no Mentor. So they go their Way without the ability to profit from any knowledge and they raise their borders over their Limits. Pigeonholing is quite normal in our society, but some people just don't fit into a pigeonhole 1

I be shure i understood it right, but may be myself misunderstood. this little Story shall be more like a metapher instead just the true Story. ... and i would not call it Control, i would say more call it Censorship Control would be a hint that your contents maybe wrong to double check it Censorship is a simple remove of a content while suspected. Thats the different for me about control or Censorship. Who defines what is right or wrong ? and with what scale they defines what is right or wrong Same Stupidness with the Autonom Vehicles. The Manufacturer’s told us peoples „scream“ for self driving cars, but in my opinion they may like also a censorship. I don‘t want to ride a fully autonom Vehicle with no Control on it, i like it to have fully Control on a Car because i know what i do. I even hate it to ride with a Train or a Bus when i must lost my responsibillity and hand it over. It is absolute easy to turn also an 50 year old Wheelhorse into a fully autonom Vehicle like a Mowerrobot, but than it ain‘t be a Wheelhorse any longer it just becomes an „old mowerrobot“. Same with the so called „SOS“ Key in the car, do you believe honestly they be just to help you? why does modern Cars have this „feature“ automatically integrated? in the past i worked in telematic electronics development, ask why i leave this job... ...Call it censor not control. 1

If the information they receive is only the information you want them to receive then you have altered their ability to see alternative points of view. Do this frequently and a fear of stating alternate points of view will take over the mind and you are now controlling their thoughts and mindset. Many authoritarian governments have done this very successfully. I don't think this is the case with YouTube's censorship. They just have a team of attorneys advising them that stupid people who don't know to walk and chew gum at the same time will try unsuccessfully to repeat the daring deeds that have been posted by others. "If an accomplished athlete with years of training can do this or that then so can they!" If it ends in tragedy then sue YouTube.
