"Manic-Mechanic" 1,195 #1 Posted July 19, 2022 Hello, I will be taking down the transaxle for repair, is there a methodology that will save me some time? I know that I can simply remove everything obvious, but would like any heads up on what to avoid? Can I leave the hydro motor attached to the manifold? Will any of the 3 pt assembly need to come off? pfrederi 17,865 #2 Posted July 19, 2022 I think you will have to remove the hydro motor from the manifold. Its output gear sticks well into the transaxle. You do not want to stress the manifold by trying to pull it out. You should follow the instruction in the sunstrand manual as to removal. I know it says you can sort of do this with out removing the transaxle completely but it would make working on it awkward.(Working on the ground doesn't agree with my knees and other parts.).I have never done it. i just roll the whole assembly back then open it up. 1 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I too like the tranny on a bench, then sideways in my vice.
