OutdoorEnvy 1,711 #2 Posted July 18, 2022 If it is isn't popping off on starter fluid and you have spark then you either have flooded it possibly or have a compression issue. Just curious how did you verify you have spark and is this the single kohler or twin onan? If you think it may be flooded you can remove spark plug or plugs and turn the engine over with starter for several seconds and clear it out some.
96WS6TA 37 #3 Posted July 18, 2022 i removed the spark plug and cranked it over and visually saw a spark
oldlineman 1,489 #4 Posted July 19, 2022 You may want to try new plugs sometimes they fire outside of the cylinder but don't under compression.
Cee245 820 #5 Posted July 19, 2022 (edited) As @OutdoorEnvy refers to, if you have a Good spark and fuel, you're missing one thing... you may want to see what the compression numbers are. Or better yet, a leakdown test.. have a kit from Harbor Freight. Works... If it is a 416"H" it's the Onan twin. I don't believe there was a M16 and Eaton 1100 match in 85/86. I've only ever seen Kohler magnum 16 with the 8 speed... Although, I think that'd be a great idea 💡 !! Edited July 19, 2022 by Cee245 Missed info
oldlineman 1,489 #6 Posted July 19, 2022 yes good compression is a requirement for a running engine.
