We just picked it up, d180. That would be fun, the d's kinda grow on ya. This one is in amazing shape just missing one muffler. And best thing is I know the hydro is good cause I rebuilt a few years back. 1
pacer 3,173 #8 Posted July 11, 2022 Couple yrs back I got a D200 - typical condition for these old guys - seat (didnt have one!), gas tank, wiring, tires, etc .... but what caught my eye was, what appeared to be, was the two very nice condition factory mufflers. I eye balled them as well as possible sitting out in the pasture (as usual!) and they really looked nice. I'm thinking the mufflers were worth what he was asking for the tractor, so I bought it. Wanted to ck the motor out, so carefully removed the mufflers and got them on the bench ..... yeah you guessed it, they were rotted badly, literally falling apart (like the gas tank) the pipe fittings were the only thing useable! They went to the scrap yard last week along with a bunch of other 'junk' Thankfully the tractor turned out to be in really nice condition otherwise.

BMW1 42 #10 Posted July 18, 2022 I made some videos and included some pictures of the D200 mufflers Jim Kemp made for my D200. I am very happy with them and did not have any issues installing them. I used a 1" x 2" steel nipple(purchased at Home Depot) at the top. The video sound quality is not that good. I don't have a decibel meter but no muffler was definitely louder. Jim's muffler sounded better than the showerheads, in my opinion. Jim's muffler was a lot heavier gauge material then the stock mufflers on my other D200 and look significantly better than the showerhead mufflers. sjoemie himself 3,068 #11 Posted July 18, 2022 @jimkemp nice work on the mufflers, looks like heavy duty quality. If I may ask, what does the inside of your muffler look like? Do you use baffles for silencing or do you use a 'straight-through' design with perforated steel and rockwool or something similar?

They are fully baffled inside just like my stack mufflers , they are not straight through design , the exhaust changes direction twice before the outlet , sound waves changing direction cuts down the db

They were built in the 'straight through' design thinking that would be best.. my mufflers are probably too small to work in this configuration. I'll try again with baffles
