It is amazing what can be done to keep a Wheel Horse going with parts from the "fence row"! In all my years I have never heard of the axle hubs being welded to the axle shafts on a Lawn Ranger. And I have always said "if you need a good 3 speed Unidrive get one from a Lawn Ranger since Wheel Horse did not make ground engaging attachments for that model" .  Let us know how the Lawn Ranger turns out.

They were filled with a material that is corrosive in the presence of moisture. Cracks in the tire or around the valve may have allowed entry. Prepare to find that the wheel is rusted through and beyond salvage.

This ^^ Salts belong in the kitchen, not on our ferrous equipment as we all have likely had to deal with...

Those wheels are sometimes difficult, but not impossible, to find. Start by posting a clear and specific and well-titled Wanted Classified in this forum (read some of the others to get some ideas) and checking out our site-supporting vendors listed here: https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/forum/92-vendors/

The EBay is another source as is Facebook's Marketplace

You may find a parts tractor there or on Craigslist which has usable wheels and other parts you need that is cheaper than buying individual parts.

It'll take persistence and some time.

Hang in!
