Wheelhorse#1 1,657 #1 Posted July 6, 2022 Working on a mule drive for a 73 12 auto. The bearing is toast in this one.Tried everything but heat and the air hammer. Seems either pressed in or sandwiched in between the two half’s? Anyone know if these come out ?thx
squonk 41,104 #2 Posted July 6, 2022 (edited) You have to drill out the spot welds and split the pulley. Weelhorsepartsandmore has them pretty cheap https://wheelhorsepartsandmore.com/product-category/pulley-idlers/ Edited July 6, 2022 by squonk

peter lena 8,625 #4 Posted July 7, 2022 @Wheelhorse#1 thats the size / type of bearing you want for a bearing . lubrication upgrade , you want pulleys with wide rubber side shields on the bearings .avoid those smaller bearings with tiny seals . look around , lucas x-tra heavy duty ,hi temp , anti sling , polyurea grease , will stop bearing failure , wipe out original " grease " carb cleaner flush , repack with same amount of lucas , push in side shields . my deck bearings and my mule bearings are all the same 6203 bearings , all lucas repacked , also do your pto cone needle bearing , lightly , do not over grease . no whining bearing noise and no failures , just a suggestion . pete 1
Wheelhorse#1 1,657 #5 Posted July 7, 2022 Thanks for all the advice ! I pulled apart the flat Pully yesterday. Not difficult at all really, used a couple chisels to pry apart the two half’s once I drilled out all the spot welds. I didn’t have the correct bearing as I thought, looks like I need a 6203-2RS.Still cheaper than a replacement Pully. 2
