ebinmaine 67,589 #1 Posted July 5, 2022 Here's one that a lot of us will get a kick out of.... Over this past weekend I picked up a couple tractors. One of them, a 1973 10 HP, 8-speed, was for @OldWorkHorse Steve. He got to poking around on it this morning and discovered the fastener in the interesting place that is pictured below.... For those of you unfamiliar with the early to mid 70s horses. Yes, that's the gas tank. Absolutely baffling to the both of us why they would be a screw put into the gas tank....
pfrederi 17,741 #2 Posted July 5, 2022 Sheet metal screw and some epoxy have fixed more than one leaky gas tank. 5

If not, just a screw head superglued there to rattle you.... I agree with @pfrederi that it may be a patch for some unfortunate incident in the past. Too bad Horses can't talk.....

Pullstart 62,905 #9 Posted July 5, 2022 I’ve never had a live mouse jump out, but plenty of mouse nests! When I picked up my C-160 a few Memorial Days ago, I opened the hood and a little snake was on top of the engine tins.

Blasterdad 2,692 #21 Posted July 6, 2022 (edited) This is on the C-160 I picked up last week. Fleabay Universal Voltage Regulator/Rectifier Relocation Kit { Part # WTF-101 } With wiring harness. Free Shipping. Not "odd" but these Wally World lights were on the C-81 I picked up a while ago, one of my pet peeves, brought home quite a few with "lighting kits". I'd have a very well lit trash can if I wired it. Lol. Edited July 6, 2022 by Blasterdad 1

chip61 658 #25 Posted July 6, 2022 My buddy called me and told me I had just bought a Wheel Horse tractor and some Allis Chalmers accessories for $150.00-come get them!! Dragged it on the trailer, got it home, cleaned the gas tank and carb and installed the battery from my jet ski and drove it off the trailer. Bought for a parts tractor, but was too nice to part our so I use it to move trailers around. How do you like the front hub cover?? 4
