Sparky-(Admin) 21,315 #1 Posted July 3, 2022 Been messing with the wheels on my 1054, they were painted by someone in the past pure white and have a bit of red overspray. Only the Workhorse series look good with white wheels, all others look terrible (my opinion). Wanted to get them closer to original but there is no rattle can paint on the shelf called “linen beige”. Started out with gloss almond and it was just to yellow and dark for me: Back to the hardware store and came back with Navaho White. This one I really like! This pic is Navajo White next to a pure white wheel off a Craftsman for color comparison. 7
ebinmaine 67,484 #2 Posted July 3, 2022 The Navajo White is what we use on all our tractor's wheels.... And a couple engines. We've had a 1967 wheel off and the inside where the sun doesn't hit is a near perfect match. The Local Paint Department/BBT absolutely agrees with your findings. 3 1
wallfish 16,999 #3 Posted July 3, 2022 Not convinced! I'll bring 6 sets of wheels to ZAGS for you to clean and paint so you can proove it's the right color! I like your professional looking work too! 1

Sherwin Williams has "Natural Linen" that can be ordered in a 12oz spray can but the price is outrageous. I have purchased it by the quart and sprayed it with good results adding hardener and a bit of reducer.

ri702bill 8,319 #8 Posted July 4, 2022 (edited) ... and NO overspray on the rubber as applied by some "well meaning Restorers" trying to put lipsiick on a pig as described in a post yesterday, It has been said "If you have no pride in your ride, leave it outside".Words of wisdom there... scottbrucea 91 #11 Posted July 5, 2022 Krylon - Gloss Ivory is closer to Linen Beige than anything else I have used, but now I can’t find I anywhere. 1

Don No offense meant…I just don’t like pure white rims on Wheel Horses, especially red ones. I don’t think any of them came with white rims other than the Work Horse series originally.
