Thegearhead0324 1,256 #54 Posted March 18, 2023 I'm done for the day, but front tri ribs are on. I gotta touch up the rims after mounting all tires. But went well. The wide rear rims I got online cheap, I'm not sure what they were off of, but they were rusty and yellow so I cleaned them and sprayed them. I first bought 8.5 wides but they were too narrow for the look I wanted so got these which are a couple inches wider. Was trying not to have sidewall bulge. Its crazy what a difference tires make tho. 4
Thegearhead0324 1,256 #55 Posted March 18, 2023 I very happy about the way it came out. I was so nervous about fitment and looks because I spent a lot of money on the tires, but glad I did. I feel like I'm part of the "big tire" club.

Thegearhead0324 1,256 #60 Posted March 22, 2023 Tonight I started on the electric fuel pump set up. I mounted the pump under my fuel tank, ran the fuel lines with the filter and shut off valve. It looks ok for now. Just gotta run wires, relay and switch.
Thegearhead0324 1,256 #61 Posted March 26, 2023 I wired up the fuel pump with a switch and relay, I tell ya, runs good. I mean it always ran good, but fired right up better than before.

Thegearhead0324 1,256 #66 Posted March 28, 2023 I changed the oil tonight and adjusted the tie rods. I may have to brace the rear pan with steel as I only have washers temporarily spacing it out half inch.

The flexing of the seat pan tool box around those washers will bend or break without having it resting on something larger like the top of the transmission.

Thegearhead0324 1,256 #69 Posted April 8, 2023 Today I finished rebuilding the carburetor after noticing after my electric fuel pump install, it was leaking gas when it sat. So I cleaned/redid the carb with new needle and seat. Seems to be fine so far.
Thegearhead0324 1,256 #70 Posted April 9, 2023 So about my seat, where would I be able to find foam that would hold up and last? It’s original and good shape but is flat as a pancake.

But only get rubber foam. Here in Michigan I ordered from a company called Foam Express. I only got the (lux firm) it's made for seats and was as good or better then the original foam.
