wallfish 17,011 #4 Posted July 1, 2022 NICE!!!!!! Think I see ID tags on the frames which many are gone. Post some pics of them when you get a chance along with the cast numbers on the trans next to the shifter. If the Clinton is a B1290 it would be a correct RJ engine. That's clearly not an original as you probably already know but Clintons make a nice nostalgic fit on RJs. That's a nice find just for the original belt guard if it's not a repop. Appears to be an original. Lots of good stuff there and possibly a 2 outta 2 instead of making 1 outta 2. The dreaded RJ front rim switcharoo has happened on both but the right ones can be found.
CRAZYFROG 302 #5 Posted July 2, 2022 I know the wheels have been swapped out on the front. I already purchased a set in PA that I'll be picking up. I plan on making 1 out of the 2 to get one done. Then find the parts to finish the 2nd one in time. 17 hours ago, wallfish said: NICE!!!!!! Think I see ID tags on the frames which many are gone. Depending how early, some had other things different too. Like the hitch being different and or round rear hubs instead of the 3 ear hubs. The mower deck is an earlier version too because of the square gear covers. I think the Hp of a 498 Clintion is the same as a B1290 but something makes them different. But IDK what that is
