Heatingman 971 #1 Posted June 30, 2022 Just bought a wheelhorse. First one. Seems to fit my old fashioned style. 5 1

Pullstart 62,827 #9 Posted June 30, 2022 If you’re unsure of the model, we can help. Pictures would be best! There should be an ID tag somewhere, either under the dash, on the frame near the left side of the dash stand, or maybe on the rear fender. It’ll have model ID and serial info. If you can’t do pictures, let’s start by doing 20 questions! Round hood? Fender pan? If there’s a fender pan, is bolted to the tractor or does it flip up? Where’s the gas tank located? What size/brand engine? That should help narrow it down quite a bit! 3

Early to mid seventies model 10141 on the data plate serial 148917 Runs and drives, seems it needs a seat switch for the pto to engage

That's an 8 horsepower Kohler single cylinder engine. I'm not so sure there's a seat switch on that tractor though...... I've got a 1975 C series that does not have a seat switch and I've had 1974 B80 without it. PTO switch not acting right would absolutely cause your issues.

I followed the wiring, 2 wires go to the bottom of the seat through the frame, and if I trick the machine to think the PTO switch is in the disengage position, the motor stays active, and the PTO engages. I’ll fool with it tonight see if I can bypass the seat switch till I can tear apart the seat and fix the switch. It needs new skins anyways.

Finds things in the trash to sell. So, I figured his family needed the money more then me, and I thought 250 was fair to begin with considering a bargain basement new rider is 2k, and pretty much every used one regardless of age is no less then 400 if it runs. Didnt set out to buy a wheelhorse, but when I saw the picture, it felt right. Reminded me of the International my uncle used to have when I was a kid. That was a full size tractor (don’t know the model) but I’d bet it was from the 50’s and he would mow the entire block with it every weekend just cause he loved driving the tractor 2
