Wheel Horse sold WH-Branded FELs for more than a couple models of tractor. 

Later 520's and and the D's (and others?) had 1" spindles and were more than brawny enough to lift buckets with 4-500 lbs, if properly set up and carrying rear weight.

Do some research.

Rhubarb! Now that brings back some memories. You just don't find that in NC but my grandmother back in PA used to make a couple different rhubarb pies that were to die for! One was strictly rhubarb (no doubt sweetened with several pinches of sugar ) and the other was a rhubarb custard that was topped with méringue and that was killer!

 

Twisting a stock off an sucking the juice out was something I did regularly, but that's not for everyone

Rhubarb and strawberry pie was my Mom's thing (tart and sweet). I liked it plain, but my Dad was an "a la mode" guy!

Not sure if it's still in business, but a pie shop in Amsterdam NY was making them a few years back.

Don't want to derail this thread more than we have and I don't think your picture carried over, but I loaned my c-120 and cart (similar to yours) this week and the axle didn't hold up. Neighbor moving 15 yards of topsoil by the cartload showed me that I need to beef things up a bit if I can. That might require a whole new cart but I don't know, maybe a better steel axle would suffice?

You’re exactly right. While my cart did hold up and it’s sitting with the load in it, I’m not reassured it’s strong enough. Using that for the concrete I need to mix and pour for connecting my house and the two story garage in back. As far as cart I think I’m going to build one using this design. It tows nice. With this full load I was easily able to lift the cart off the hitch so it balances well when loaded.

1” spindles I can see but not these 3/4” spindles on most of these tractors.

1" is obviously far stronger than ¾ but the ¾ will certainly hold its own. There are also ¾ spindles with a 90⁰ reinforcement piece. 

 

A great upgrade to the front end of a Wheelhorse is to change over to 5 lug trailer hubs.
