They’re hard on every component associated with the front end. “Wheel” weights distribute the weight fairly evenly around the spindles as wheel weights and fill do. With fill and wheel weights I should be able to achieve close to 75lbs per wheel.

That creates a good even push to the ground and keeps ALL the weight off the tractor.

peter lena 8,634 #54 Posted July 19, 2022 @Rob J. noted it took a number of things to get it right , add any fuel treat ment to that fuel ? how about a fuel bowl debris check? now that its running / sounding good , verify what got it that way , and enhance those areas. thats a regular check , after I found an issue , inhance grounding , don,t take it for granted , especially engine / chassis related / ignition areas , once I redid all my connections my electrical issues stopped . keep going , pete
The Freightliner Guy 1,327 #55 Posted July 19, 2022 How much weight can the wheel horse loader pick up and carry cuz that’s a big bucket for a lawn mower tractor

It's very important to remember that these tractors are NOT riding lawn mowers. They are Garden Tractors. There's a HUGE difference in strength, durability, versatility and capability between the two. 3
The Freightliner Guy 1,327 #57 Posted July 19, 2022 (edited) Well I call some lawn mowers because I always see them as mowers but yes I do understand it’s a garden tractor and that’s alot of weight Edited July 19, 2022 by The Freightliner Guy
Rob J. 1,942 #58 Posted July 19, 2022 I have to agree. While the cool factor is certainly there I wonder just how much “work” one can actually do with that set up. Again just looking at the front ends of these garden tractors one can easily see they aren’t designed for real heavy weight being put there. Sure we’ve all pushed the limits from time to time but if or when I ever get in the market for a loader I’m gonna go with a bigger tractor for sure. But man it sure does look neat as hell.
The Freightliner Guy 1,327 #59 Posted July 19, 2022 Yeah if your looking for a loader a small kabota or John Deere would probably be more reliable than a cobbled together lawn tractor fitted with a front loader
The Freightliner Guy 1,327 #60 Posted July 19, 2022 But still cool and useful

And why would a green thing be any more reliable than anything else? I have to respectfully and vehemently disagree with that. 1
The Freightliner Guy 1,327 #62 Posted July 19, 2022 What I mean by cobbled together is like I forgot the word but I think a JD would maybe be more reliable because it’s built to have a front loader on it but I’m not saying that the wheel horse is not good but I’m saying that a wheel horse tractor wasn’t really built to be a loader but yeah

There are several models of horses that are more than strong enough to carry a light loader. The loaders used were the same size and shape has a lot of the other competitive garden tractors including the green ones. Most every brand of tractor carries many different types of machines from basic small lawn mowers up to subcompacts. There's no reason whatsoever to believe that a JD would be any more reliable than a much easier to work on Wheel Horse. In fact I venture to say the opposite would be true. I'd rather have a good strong well-built reinforced Wheel Horse absolutely any day than anything built by the competition.
The Freightliner Guy 1,327 #64 Posted July 19, 2022 Oh ok didn’t mean to create an argument but I just never knew how many wh tractors there are and I bet some of them probably are more reliable than jds but anyways don’t hate me for mentioning jds

No worries. No argument here. My intention is to let you know that there are many many different models of Wheel Horses of lots of different sizes and capabilities.
