I’m gonna run it first. The axles aren’t leaking at this point and everything feels right. Won’t really know until it’s under power. But I have noted your suggestion, just hope it’s the one thing I don’t have to do to this guy.

What about that hydro roller?  It will have the hubs you need and the dash, for less than the price of the special hubs.

Have you drained the transmission?

There's almost certainly water in the bottom....

I’m doing that a little later today, just finished power washing it. Didn’t want to defeat any purpose here. 😉

Some more progress, refurbed a seat and fender pan and test fitted it. It’s coming along. As soon as I can get the hubs and roll it the mechanics will come next. I fully expect it to run. How good is another question.

Well made good progress this weekend. I power washed it. Looks a lot better. Got the broken hub off and inspected the other. It’s keyway was turned on the shaft 90 degrees. So it came off. Got the dash tire apart and the steering wheel out. I managed to save the shaft with my basic tools. It’s ready for a set of hubs and dash cowl. Then it will be off to mechanics. Rear end looks good feels good so I’m hoping I get lucky there. I’m confident it will run. Thanks everyone for all your help and insight. Pro-tip if you don’t have a press like me just grind the damn thing off. Get close and hit it with heat, popped right off. Cheers!

Well a little more progress. It’s officially a roller. So far $270 in this rig. Now off to the mechanics.

@Rob J.  when you get in the  RIPPIN  AND GOUGIN MODE  ,STUFF HAPPENS , looks like a perfect opportunity and condition , for a lubrication soak and rub down , that flat / dull paint is begging for , an aerosol lubrication soak down , let it sit a day , rub it down with a clean cloth till dry , no sandpaper , now spray it down again , let sit a day . rub down till dry , Howe's it look ? patina restored ? you could finish it with a linseed oil finish rub down , did you say it was friggin hot ? , kinda melty here too , pete

I put large plastic fender washers under them to give a little air gap between the frame & box. 

Don't be surprised if this one ends up being your favorite!

True. First impressions can be deceiving when we look at hoods, seats, tires and other stuff affected by the elements but other stuff like steering linkages, battery boxes, and even the muffler can speak volumes about what might be just as important.

Hitch update. Did a little cleaning up on the wiring and new spark plug. New fuel lines and filter and bam, runs like a dream. All gears were ran in both hi and low and zero issues. I’m tickled pink!

Nice!  It's good to get a couple wins when you take on an unknown project like this.  Looks like the worse is behind you!

 

So what's next for it?  I'm curious on your build as we both have similar C-100 projects going.

I’m going straight into putting a real hitch on it. I think I’m going with some wide “mild” AGs on the back and tri-ribs on front. I’d like to get ahold of a set of wheel weights for the 8” fronts and also fill them.

If you're still "front light" you can add a weight out front too.

Well Eric as you may know I’m not a fan of external weights on my tractors. They’re hard on every component associated with the front end. “Wheel” weights distribute the weight fairly evenly around the spindles as wheel weights and fill do.
