DeepH2O 66 #1 Posted June 27, 2022 Just checking to see if anyone had a trick for removing these 2 bearings? This is only 2 that I’ve come across that can’t be driven out through other side. The OD of bearing is larger than ID of gear. My only thought was to remove some of the needles to utilize the edge to drive out from other side. Thanks! ri702bill 8,482 #2 Posted June 27, 2022 (edited) A while back, I made what I call a Ship in a Bottle Tool to remove the 2 bronze bushings, #37, inside the cluster gear, #36, of a 4 speed. Same issue, they are seated in a counterbore from each end.You assemble the tool while it is inside the thru hole to press out the first one, switched to the solid disc to remove the second one. Worked well. Others have used either a commercially available two finger expanding puller or an expanding collet / slidehammer for this.
