ebinmaine 67,636 #1 Posted June 26, 2022 The little group of hiking folks me n Trina hang out with initially melded together back in 2015. She and I, along with several other people, met at Mt Blue State Park, Weld Maine in June of 2015 when I was leading mountain hikes and camping trips. It's been an annual trip since. This year we decided to take a couple extra days off and go up early so we could enjoy what the park has to offer and be more relaxed about it. The BBT has of course been prepping for the trip for at least a week prior. Thursday we loaded the car and drove up. Relaxed in the campsite after getting all setup. Friday I got outta bed earlier n' the rest of camp like normal. Made up delicious boiled Cowboy coffee and set a spell to relax by the fiya 🔥. Had some good quiet company for just a bit. Little bunny rabbit stopped by to see me. We went kayaking Friday as well. The rest of the weekend was fabulous!! We hiked Big Jackson Mountain and a second unnamed smaller peak. 7.6 miles. Well over 3000 feet elevation gain. That's the best I've done in the last 3 years. Recovery and management of my fibromyalgia is going well. Here's the hiking pics. Not necessarily in any particular order... 3 7 1

Racinbob 11,095 #3 Posted June 26, 2022 Awesome! I think I caught a whiff of the coffee from here. I'll bet the others woke up to the best aroma in the world. Bacon frying over the campfire. Incredible pictures Eric and Trina. Thanks for sharing your adventure. 3

There are two predominant types of trail markers. If there are trees you will see a blaze which is normally a painted rectangle or other shape whatever color the trail is designated. Our particular case for example was a light blue rectangle. If there are no trees on which to paint a trail marker you will see these rock piles about every 50 to 100 ft. They can be anywhere from two or three stones in a triangle to as much as 6 ft high or more.
