Drydock 3 #1 Posted July 6, 2009 Question. Got a good tight 3 speed uni-drive, all run-outs in spec, but its leaking from the output shaft seals. It sat for a long time, I'm thinking the seals dry rotted. Is it possible to replace the seals without splitting the transmission?
sorekiwi 761 #2 Posted July 7, 2009 Yes it is. If the hubs come off easily, its a relatively easy job. I use a small screw driver to pick the old seals out, and an old piece of pipe of appropriate size to knock the new ones back in. Clean the axle up before you slide the new seals over it, and be careful you dont cut the new seal on the keyway in the axle

It was $32.00 (which is lot cheaper than your other source choice!
