Why Doesn't it Cut?

As stated in my last post, the tractor is now kaput until I get the connecting rod replaced.  If you read my posts, I do mention that I found that the blades were on backwards initially and corrected that.  When it was running, the right blade spun ccw and the left blade cw which I am guessing aided in discharging cut grass to the rear of the deck which is basically open.  The cutting edges are the leading edges.

Looking down (from the seat, if that's easier), this is correct.

A common issue with these mowers is the grass pushed forward and building up at the top front center of the shell, not being cleaned, and rusting through right at the mount for the front anti-scalp roller.

You said they were upside down, but your description of rotation direction sounds backwards, which could have led you to put the blades on the wrong sides, so I have to ask "are you sure?"  And I assume (or hope) you will get it runnning again.
