We don't allow demons here... but I'll be sure to take video if BBT's head starts spinning... Or vice versa.

Today's fun for the builders was installing the clay colored trim around the edges of the metal roof and working on the pine siding some more.

After this they'll move to the front. Install green painted boards on the upper floor just like they did at the back here.   Whatever painted boards are left will be installed on lower portions where we can reach easily with a paintbrush or roller.

I'm really liking the color combination. Different but it looks great. 👌

Thanks Bob!

Trina came up with the color combo with a few choices here and there and between the two of us this is where we ended up. We opted to go with a more docile color scheme instead of repeating the eye catching nature of the house.

Also just found that we're almost waterproof too.

Most of the ridge cap is now on.

It'll certainly be much more camouflaged. We went to blending colors looking for just that.

We wish it was on the property back far enough to be completely out of vision from the road. House too.

We thought about putting it back more but of course excavation costs would have been too high.

Just a thought, Eric. Have you thought about a trap door in the upstairs floor? With a hoist above it for lifting heavy or bulky things up there.

:shhh:. Shhh....

Definitely. Not sure if I've mentioned it back in this thread or not.

It doesn't pass building code so Trina and I may or may not possibly soon or never make one AFTER the crew leaves and the Code Enforcement Officer signs off.

Maybe.

IIFF we do make a hole it would be for long things (boards etc)  that don't fit up the stairs.  Nothing upstairs will be so heavy we can't carry it up the stairs.

Between trusses, no risk. Cutting a truss? Need to redirect the forces to adjacent trusses with proper structures.

Easier to put a hatchway into an exterior wall at the back or front, really, and hang a hoist support above it, if needed.

No truss or any other floor cutting here sir.

Never intended to.

What I'm talking about is a doorway in an exterior wall on the second floor.

What types of windows are you using :confusion-scratchheadblue:  do they have a nailing flange, normally you would put the windows in and then the siding over the nailing flanges to prevent leaks.

Dunno. Haven't seen them yet.

It'll be very soon they're installed.

I'll try to have them take "in progress" pics.
