We would build a pocket like that for steel siding, much the same for wood also. So I approve :teasing-poke:

Now I know who to consult on pole barns!

Neato new toy showed up today and the Ditch Witch was taken to another site.

This is a tracked type man lift.

On level ground it'll reach 32 feet.

Here it is all set up ready for the setting of the first truss.

The guys finished building the front walls beside the 16' doorway.  Also put copper flashing all the way around the foundation and added the PT sill plates.

The brackets (circled in red) are what holds the header beam.

That beam will be put in place by the crane just before or after the last truss.

Which is why you want the footings in now.  Cheap now, expensive later.

So my big ? here is EB is you mentioned no utilities to such a build. Surely you gonna have a issue this kinda build might need some somewhat serious power? Compressor, welder even lighting, battery charging outlets etc?

You goin Amish on us?

No power... For now...

We'll be installing eel-lectric. Likely next year.

Permanent water probably will never happen. Cost of digging ditches and making the connection is HUGE.

Warm weather water is quite likely.

I guess that the rocks in the ground is your main concern?  The plumbing parts should be peanuts.

Correct.  To meet code for a tie in we need a 5 ish foot deep ditch. That's not possible without MAJOR excavation.

There's no such thing as a ditch here.

Literally would have to remove shred and rebuild most of the driveway.

Just ain't worth it to either one of us.

We have sinks in the house.

That's what I got happening... I ran a line from way down at the lawn sprinkler pump house. Only a ten foot deep point but all the water I want at the big shed. More than enough to run a pressure washer.

Drain it all out and blow it out come November. Sure is nice when spring rolls around to get it working again.

Could be something similar to what we do.

We'll have a decent sized utility sink without a job once the basement is remodeled for the momma.

That could live under one of the shed roofs.

Today only one fella was here. He spent some time making all the side shed roof rafters.  44 of them ??

One each side for pattern and fit.

That's fine but remember...

Upstairs is part dojo.

18 x 40.  720.

But really ALOT more because there's storage between all the trusses too.
