OutdoorEnvy 1,522 #1 Posted June 18, 2022 So my friend came upon this D200 opportunity from an old farmer clearing out his barn. He had a few garden tractors he had finally cleared a way to get out from the back of his barn/shop and a D200 was in the lot. So we made the two hour drive and after a good talk and history on this rig it was on the trailer! This is my friends rig and I will be assisting with the save project. He is the third owner, guy we bought it from got is from his brother in law who bought it new. It's been kept inside it's entire life and judging by the paint condition it would be hard to argue that. Story is he parked it about ten years ago and got a zero turn so this was basically retired from mowing duty. Claims it was in normal working order when parked. So package is the D200 with 48" mower deck and a Wheel Horse mid-mount grader blade. The grader blade I'm pretty sure is not for a D series but I'm not sure yet as it may hook up to it. But it seems like the C series grader blade to me offhand. Total package was $450. That seems like a solid deal for our parts in Oklahoma as this is the first complete D series tractor that's even came up in around 2 years of us keeping an eye out. Plan is to get this cleaned up and back to regular user duty. I'll post updates here as we make progress on it. I think this will clean up real nice! Here's a few pics. Last one is next to his 417-A for size comparison. I was surprised at how much bigger the D series are compared to the regular size WH tractors. 9

Pullstart 62,905 #6 Posted June 18, 2022 Cool story! Totally worth it, the grader blade is at least half of the price of admission

zlimmy 78 #8 Posted June 21, 2022 Same as my find here in Norway a few years ago. But it had a broken steering gear, been neglected and stood still a long time. But after some TLC it works like a charm. Love it, but i miss diff lock in wintertime. Little sloppy in front wheel bearings witch is impossible to get cause not produced anymore. Also needed to replace all tires..😍
OutdoorEnvy 1,522 #9 Posted July 2, 2022 So my friend and I had a half day to throw at this thing and we have a nice runner! Didn't take much really. Carb cleaning, ground clean up at the negative battery terminal and solenoid, cleaned the points, replaced a couple connectors and fuse housing and fuse. She popped right off. Hydro fluid was low so we topped that off just to see if it would move and it did. We ran it about 5 mins then changed the engine oil and filter. Next will be changing out the hydro oil and filter, spark plugs, and air filter, servicing the mowing deck and maybe ordering some belts. Still needs a deep cleaning and the hood and grill put back on. But looks like a nice win at this time. We all took a couple drives around the property with it. here's a couple pics of Jack and yours truly

ineedanother 1,369 #11 Posted July 2, 2022 I've never cared for the look of the D series but I would have jumped on that deal in a minute. Nice find, good luck with putting her back into service,
OutdoorEnvy 1,522 #12 Posted July 3, 2022 (edited) Started on the deck work. Covers removed for inspection and it needed a thorough cleaning for sure. Looks like a house for someone at some point. forgot to do a before pic but the dirt was so thick all 3 blades were hitting dirt when they turned. Got most removed. Now will try to get rust off and determine if we want to repaint this thing to slow the rust. Deck wheels look to be needed as well. Still need to finish cleaning out the fuel tank and run new lines. Not sure if the fuel pump works yet or not. But she's coming a long. Edited July 3, 2022 by OutdoorEnvy

Yeah we cleaned the old ones for now. It'll be on the maintenance list for long term use. Friend will be putting this to work regularly so he'll want it reliable.
