Trans Model Help

I’m trying to identify exactly which trans model I have. It’s an 8 speed with 4 pinion diff off of a 1989 312-8. Any help is appreciated!!

Well, dang, now I’m confused. The master parts manual I have been using says my axle seal is #100443 and the trans part manual above says it #100863. Which makes sense because I measured my axle and it’s 1.0”. 
 

I had already purchased 100443

Not sure who is confused here.  The circled part says it all.

   That list shows and is for the #110996 AND #110995 transmissions.  It shows, if you have this model horse, then this is true...and if you have this model horse, then this is true.  #110996 has 1" axles and 4 pinion differential, 300 series.  #110995 has 1 1/8" axles and 8 pinion differential, 400 series.

Read it again. The top picture shows I should have 110996. The bottom shows I should have 110995. Also, look at each page that I have circled. Look at part numbers. Dear Lord, I know I’m not seeing this wrong, haha.

I think I see my mistake. My parts manual I’ve been using is for 1991. The models listed at top of that manual doesn’t include my 21 12K806

 

All of the parts so far have been right, I think this is just one of the few instances where parts have changed.

In 1990 the 312-8 had 1-1/8" axles.

That makes sense then!! Thanks for all yalls help! Mine is a 1989. I measured my axle and it is 1”, I kept doubting the original part number I looked at Bc it showed 1 1/8” x 1 3/8”. 
 

I couldn’t find a full parts manual for my 1989 312-8. I called myself looking through everything. Can you point me in the right direction?

The parts manuals are often shared by more than one model. The online manuals do not identify what model uses what. 

The see what is included look at the engine page and transmission page. In this case 4 different engines and 4 different transmission case halves.

When you find an item number for an item see how many times that same item number shows up. If it is only once that is the part. More than one and it is up to you to figure out which one is correct.

Thanks!! Yalls help is invaluable to me!! Your advice was my plan going forward. I just really wish I could find the specific parts manual.

If you have an 8 speed with 1" axles, you will have a 4 pinion differential.  Any parts manual for the #5086 or the #110996 will work for your transmission.
