Idle tension pully

Recommended Posts

I have a 1968 raider 9 need to know what size bore for my idle tension pully to get I blew the bearings out but I just put a washer on the outside to keep running but the old pully is starting to separate so I need to replace it but don't know where to start normally I just measure the bore but since I blew out the barring's it's a larger bore so I am just frustrated I got terrible service so google has not been any help and neither is a parts store if I don't know the bore

@gwest_ca  those idler pulleys  typically have a bearing failure issue , due to lubrication failure , when ever I  replace one go for the biggest bearing that can always be bushed down to original bolt size , those larger bearings usually have the wider rubber grease shields , if you carefully remove the shields , pocket screwdriver . wipe out and carb cleaner , use lucas x-tra hd . 560 temp rated anti sling , polyurea rated . done that on all my related whining / noisy bearing problems . problems are gone , no noise or failure , realize this is not original , but it definitely stops the problem . having done this on all my stuff , this is the simple fix , pete
